Work on the MLK Extension Expected to Begin This Summer

Originally, work for the MLK extension between Farville and I-555 was expected to begin in November of 2020. He added that utility work and right of way acquisitions is expected to begin in the coming weeks and months.

I-555 Improvements

I-555 Rehabilitation Continues

Despite a brief delay during the winter months, progress continues with the I-555 rehabilitation project. Presently, the final asphalt surfacing has begun for the North bound lanes. Once the work on the North bound lanes has been completed, traffic can be moved to that side and allow work on the South bound lanes to begin. ARDOT expects that this second phase could begin as early as late Spring or early Summer if weather permits.

New Ramps from I-555 to Red Wolf Boulevard

ARDOT is set to add two new ramps at Red Wolf Boulevard and I-555.  The ramps will prevent drivers from turning left across Red Wolf as they exit from I-555. This is another project expected to improve both traffic flow and safety. The work is expected to begin this month, and should not significantly impact current traffic.
